SA’s economic and political landscape changed in rapid succession.

Since the downgrading of SA’s credit rating in November, Cyril Ramaphosa was elected as the ANC president in December, Jacob Zuma resigned, Ramaphosa was sworn in as president and delivered his maiden State of the Nation Address, the budget speech was delivered and was quickly followed by a Cabinet reshuffle.

In light of these huge shifts, Annabel Bishop, Investec’s Chief Economist, discusses the last four months and what it all means for SA going forward.
